moss design unit / biography

In 1995, graphic designer Sachi Sawada and illustrator Senri Sawada
established moss design unit (company) originally in Osaka and
now has office in Tokyo Japan.

moss design unit create, produce and deliver numerous print and
motion medium. For them, there's no limit when it comes to print
design - from CD/LP art cover to event poster/flier; from apparel to
corporation advertisement in any style with any format/medium.

As for motion medium, moss design unit have produced
promotional videos, music clips, Television Commercial, station
identity, television programme opening title and etc...

Animation is perhaps the moss design unit specialities.
Under the name of "digitalis moss" , they have produced
12 minutes short animation "KOBUHIME" in 2002.

Current main projects include art direction and design for
a free-paper magazine, "Quality!"
He has just completed producing JAZZANOVA (JCR) video clip as well.

Sawada is also known for a VJ (a VJ using only DVD) and has played
along with many artists, both national and international, since 1996.

As a "Print-Fetish" moss design unit are always looking for
any upcoming paper and print related news, event and shows.
They have faithfully attending to all the print shows in Japan,
and also visited DRUPA (Dusseldorf, Germany) in the year 2000.
They have especial care for 2-color print medium;
hence the work of "Quality! magazine".

moss design unit can accomodate any design according
to the client but they are proud of their original style and signature
that is very own to them: their design is often identified by
"organic" "detailed" "intricate" "warmth" "deep message behind".

It is their preferred method to focus on texture and content in their
motion image instead of using attention grabbing motion graphics.

moss design unit's style and taste can also be appreciated
in their VJ - always paying attention to artists taste of music,
the song's lyrics, feel of the sound and mood of the audience -
to create the fusion of music and visual flow.
